Hello it's Tigernose and I'm here with another wiki-changing post.
Sorry if the name of the forum misleads you.
It is not about bringing items back in Club Penguin.
It is about bringing items back in the Club Penguin Wiki.
Most of you do not know, but a couple of years ago, TurtleShroom and the crats decided to put a stop to spam in the wiki. By doing this, they declared that all articles about items will be marked as spam and not allowed on the wiki. Since then, we cannot add articles about the items in Club Penguin on the wiki. That is OUTRAGEOUS! What a silly thing.
Wondered why the article count was so low? Item articles not included.
One of the main factors in a gaming wiki is the items. Ever played a RPG and wanted to find how many coins the "Golden Sword" was worth? You went on the wiki and checked out the article. But no, there is no such thing on this wiki. We should put a stop to this. Playing Club Penguin since the start of 2006 I know that there are over 200 items ever introduced. This will drastically raise the editcount.
Also, everything that has passed away in Club Penguin is being put in the Archive namespace? What? We should only put old blog posts in that namespace. Everything ever introduced in the game should be in the mainspace. Not like it has vanished, some penguins still have the item.
Me, Joey and Hat Pop decided to put a forum about this, it could raise the Wiki's ego extremely. Sign if you're for or against. Put comments in the comment section not in the "for" or "against". --TЙГЭPHO3Ь

If this goes through, I will make a project called the "item creation drive", which practically head you into the right direction. Also, what I mean by items, are such things like all of the pins must have seperate article (they need to if you want to make the wiki and actual wiki) and also stuff like furniture are considered articles. Every little thing that is significant in Club Penguin must be included. If I was a reader I wouldn't like it if the wiki had nothing in it. At the moment, the CPW is simply a mask hiding the social networking site behind it. We need to think about the visitor. --TЙГЭPHO3Ь

- Thanks for agreeing. I don't think we should have a prefix though, after all it is the same as all other articles. --TЙГЭPHO3Ь

- So, for the archived pages, even if the item or party has passed, should we keep it in the mainspace? --Hat Pop Bunny Ears Rule! 22:08, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- We wouldn't have lots to say about each item really... They would almost all be incomplete. But maybe... Russian One – Poker Face is the Obbsession of Canada 22:32, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- I understand what you mean, but the whole point of a wiki is content and info. I'm sure a lot of users will be motivated to edit if this request gets carried through. --TЙГЭPHO3Ь

- 60% of Club Penguin is made up of items. If we do introduce item articles, that means that 60% of our current articles will be duplicated (by duplicate, I meant the article, not the content), therefore, our article count will be 960+ if so. ----Alex001 User talk:Alex001 07:56, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- So, should I begin creating item articles now, or should I wait until we get the community's full opinion? --Hat Pop Bunny Ears Rule! 15:10, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

- I think it's a good idea. Clothing items are Club Penguin related so how can they be spam? Count me in! --$harkbate DON'T MESS WITH THA SHARK BOI! 16:01, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- I agree, but I think we should keep past parties, ect. in archives. The purpose of the archive namespace is for past events, ect. They will never come again in CP. --seahorseruler |Talk (EditCount) Yoshi! 18:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- No, because they would all be stubs. And they don't give out any info but how to get it and when, and we would have to upload hundreds of pictures. But not everyone has every item, right? --Jaller2 Call me Mr. Flintstone!
- Yes, but where is the negative in that. Think of the reader, when it came out and how much it is worth is valuable information to the reader. And yes, not everyone has every item, but there are over a 1000 registered users on this site, and don't you think collectively that is enough brains to put that much info in. As they say 2 brains is better than 1, or in our case a 1000 brains. --TЙГЭPHO3Ь

- That's right. Items that were from parties still exist. Take the beta hat for example. Sharkbate has it, and it isn't gone because the Beat Party left. It's a good point.

- I removed the "neutral section", for more details check Alxeedo's talk. If you are going to go neutral in this, don't vote and simply place a comment. The neutral section is unnecessary in a vote like this. If you want it back Alxeedo, just reply. --TЙГЭPHO3Ь

- Well that's great. Why did seahorseruler make that? This is the wiki that is supposed to have item articles, not some other small related wiki. I have to be honest, that wiki has completely dented all my hopes of changing the mainspace issues we have here... --TЙГЭPHO3Ь
(Chat|Edits|Vandals) 00:38, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- It appears that we have reached a conclusion. Both webmasters agree to this, as well as several administrators and bureaucrats. Only two people are against. --Hat Pop Bunny Ears Rule! 17:44, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- Okay then. I think this is enough. Most of the active users agree to this, so this will go forward. Seeing as I made the forum, before we start making the forum, I'm gonna announce the rearrival of item articles in a way so it applies to everyone. I'm gonna do that today or tommorow. --TЙГЭPHO3Ь
