Club Penguin Wiki:Archive/Bureaucrat And Adminship Merge

Hi, I agree that the crat right is completely useless. I think we should just merge crat and admin. This will be how it works:

Admins can:

  • Add groups Rollback, Blog Mod (If vote passes), and Administrator
  • Remove groups Rollback and Blog Mod

What do you think?

Here's my view on this? What's the point of a bureaucrat right? Seriously, there are simply 2 users who got the right before, and they're the only ones who can use it. What's the point? A lot of people still think Bureaucrat is prestige, people still think it's a rank. All it is though, is simply a right that lets you give rights to others. So what? I think it's better off the merge this minor right with the admin right; it will stop a lot of admins begging to be bureaucrat for no reason, and will stop the whole "Bureaucrat is a king" stereotype on this wiki.

Also, merging the right gives us space for the Blog Mod right - the new one we're getting. Wikia won't give this to us, but they should if we make space for it. Bureuacrat was only glorified in the TurtleShroom era, now it's just a right, not a badge, not a rank. It's better off to have 10 active admins to have this right, than 2 admins who fluctuate in their activity (I'm not saying Sharbate and Hat Pop are inactive, far from it, I'm implying that 10 admins collectively are better than 2 admins [heard of 2 brains is better then one?]). --Tigernose ChatEdits 20:50, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Also, I had the fear of admins abusing their rights, as I stated on the predecessor to this forum (you know which one it is), but I am positive that this won't happen. Our admins were chosen carefully and fairly, any misuse of the bureaucrat right will end in a block, according to our policy as you know, and all right must be given via our RfA page. Good enough? --Tigernose ChatEdits 20:52, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

For (1)

  1. As long as they can't remove admins, just like 'crats can't remove 'crats. - Wompus78 17:50, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  • Whoa, you made this forum before so quickly, it was still on my to-do list till now. Totally agree though. --Tigernose ChatEdits 20:36, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Against (13)

  1. No. — Joey aa 01:35, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Sea, you're power hungry in a different way: You want more rights added to sysop. We have crats, and they are good. --Zapwire (talk/blog/edits) 10:50, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  3. I think the same, but maybe sea isn't power hungry. If he isn't I think he thinks that b-crats don't do much, and why only have two instead of lots of people who everyone trustes in. Even though I'm against--Ratonbat 18:00, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  4. Nope. Just nope. --I'M THE CODESTER! Talk 2 me, OR HAVE AVADA KEDAVRA USED! 19:03, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  5. Unnecessary. Dancing Penguin 19:24, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  6. Sorry, but that will just replay the past, where everyone was power-hungry and promoted their friends qwithout a fair vote for adminship. --Alxeedo Blah blah blah... 20:44, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  7. Why do we need ten million bureacrats, when one person can just promote someone?--Lily8789 23:19, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  8. Ummmm...no. --Hal Homsar Solo Dreams of an Absolution 16:00, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
  9. No. This does not seem like a wise idea. --Hat Pop Bunny Ears Rule! 16:09, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
  10. Beware! Merging the powers makes every administrator a bureaucrat! That would mean making me a Bureaucrat! Worse yet, if someone turned evil, they could demote everyone but themselves and rule the wiki worse than a Dictator. -- This is Serious Business! Jesus Loves You and Died for You!!  :)  :) TurtleShroom Productions: Patent Pending. 23:58, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
  11. Although they could NOT take over the wiki as TS suggests, there would be no way of stopping a rampaging Admin since only Staff could demote them. However, it is otherwise a brilliant idea so if you can fix this problem it will be perfect.--{{SUBST:NAEsig}} 13:14, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
  12. Self Assessment: Even from the start when I got this idea, I'd always have the criticism that TS stated himself. So, I'm against my own idea; it wasn't even a priority for me, just an idea I thought I could project. --Tigernose ChatEdits 18:01, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
  13. No, no, no! --Staffan15 (talk|contribs) 18:37, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
  14. Sorry, but no. --$harkbate Talk2Meh 03:41, January 26, 2010 (UTC)
  15. So not needed, srsly--Ced1214Talk | #wikia-clubpenguin | ##ced1214 22:01, January 26, 2010 (UTC)
  16. Sorry, But I'm gonna go against on this one. Ozone101 23:37, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • I had loads of reasons for making a merge. Merging the two, gives space for a new potential right, which of course now is the Blogmod right. Wikia before wouldn't have given us a new right, but space left for a new one is good. --Tigernose ChatEdits 20:39, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
Wikia would do it anyways, with bureaucrat. To be safe, no AVT. There are no slots. We can keep bureaucrat, and it prevents promotion chaos in the system. --Zapwire (talk/blog/edits) 20:48, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  • Ok, maybe we can make only a select few admins b/crats? Ozone101 23:37, January 26, 2010 (UTC)
