The Underground is a somewhat secret area that was released at the member party in May 2006. Afterwards, it was open to all penguins. The rooms in the Underground are:

  The Boiler Room - A room where you can read old editions of The Club Penguin Times. This can be accessed easily from the right speaker in the Night Club.
• 
  The Cave - A pool in a cave. This can be accessed easily from the manhole on the left of the Plaza right next to the Pet Shop. You also earn a stamp by going there.
• 
  The Mine - A room where you can play Cart Surfer and Puffle Rescue. This can be accessed easily from the Mine Shack.
• 
  The Mine Shack - The only aboveground area.
• 
  The Cave Mine - A hidden cave that was discovered during the Cave Expedition and later reopened to everyone on March 15, 2010.
• 
  The Hidden Lake - A hidden cave that was discovered during the Cave Expedition and later reopened to everyone on March 15, 2010.
• 
  The Underwater - A deep sea area that was discovered during the Cave Expedition and later reopened to members who have the Moss Key Pin on March 15, 2010.
