Club Penguin Wiki:Staffer Promotions

Hi everyone. We have decided it is time to expand and will likely promote a new staffer! While we are extremely likely to pick one, it is not currently guarunteed. If you are interested in becoming a CPWN Staff member, sign your name below and we will contact you with details on how to movie forward with the application process in the coming weeks. Be sure to review the requirements and recommendations first.

Staffer Promotion Guidelines

Note: These aren't final. We may alter them.

Required

You must meet these requirements to become a Staff Member. If you do not meet these requirements, your application will be rejected and not be looked at.

• At least 1 year of CPWN membership.
• At least 14 years of age (COPPA), (13 year olds do not have 1 year exp)
• Compliance with the network Terms of Use and no previous violations of it.

Recommended

These are things we look for in potential staffers, but you don't have to meet these to become a staffer. The more of these you meet, the better your chances at being selected.

• Previous or current wiki administrator or bureaucrat experience.
• 2+ years of CPWN membership (1 is required)
• Clean reputation (No blocks or conduct incidents).
• Good relations with other users and wikis, with no grudges against other CPWN wikis or users.
• Ability to act neutral and be fair during disputes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other Staffers.
• Being Bold: Not being afraid to do something on your own without asking.
• No connections to or involvement with competing Club Penguin related wikis.
• Basic tech skills. (Not important, just helpful)
• Maturity.
• Frequent IRC usage.

Technical Team Recommendations (Probably does not apply to you)

Technical Team Recommendations

If you are interested in applying to join our Technical Team, you should exhibit the following. We are not currently adding members to our Technical Team, and this is only for future reference.

• Understanding of how to use a Debian Linux system.
• Ability to use SSH to handle CPWN affairs without a dependence on FTP usage.
• Have an understanding of how webservers such as Apache or nginx work.
• Have a full understanding of how MediaWiki works, how it is set up, how to configure it, how to install extensions, and have enough knowledge about it to perform bugfixes and resolve issues.
• Basic PHP knowledge.
• Other coding experience is helpful.
