Backgrounds can be bought in Penguin Style, The Stage, and Snow and Sport for 60 coins each. Each month, new backgrounds come out with the new clothing catalog. If you meet Rockhopper or the Penguin Band or Gary, they will give you a signed background. Also, players could obtain a backgrounds by completing scavenger hunts such as the Band's instrument and light bulb hunts. The latest hunt was a candy hunt with a pumpkin background.
