A large pit was located in the center of the room, where penguins could dig for [[coins]] that are hidden ([[Amethyst]]s that made up the [[Amethyst Pin]] in the Cave Expedition) if they had a [[Hard Hat]] or a [[Snow Shovel]]. The Gold Mine is a wide room full of Gold Nuggets. There is a large pit near the center of the room. On the Northwest corner there is a bridge to a puffle shaped platform with a golden jackhammer. On the Northeast corner there is a large drill-like object still under construction, below it is the entrance to the [[Hidden Lake]].
 
In the middle of the upper side of the room there was a snowball-powered generator that lit up the room, if penguins did not throw [[snowball]]s at it then the lights would go off and the room would turn dark. "Here we have the Mine Cave... Some workers say they've found buried treasure... So grab a hardhat and start digging!"

The Gold Mine is a room in Club Penguin. It was discovered when a rock slide occurred on November 6, 2013 and the Cave Mine closed again. The Gold Mine later opened so players can adopt the new Gold Puffle.

Digging for coins

One could use a Hard Hat, Snow Shovel, Miners Helmet or Red Construction Hat to dig up coins, by dancing. More coins were received when the lights were dim. The current known maximum amount of coins was 100 coins. Every New Year's eve, there were a few special amounts of coins, such as 3, 6, and 33.
