The event was possibly a reference to the film ''Teen Beach Movie'', since Hallie, the host of ''Disney Game On'', posted a photo on Twitter showing the actors on the film with a detail that seemed to be the letter of the logo of Club Penguin. <ref>https://twitter.com/Hallie4GO/statuses/348705595660046336 - ''Game Onnnn''</ref>. On July 31, [[Polo Field]] posted in [[What's New Blog]] some aspects of the party and also a'' teaser'' showing how the [[Beach]] is going to be during the event<ref>http://www.clubpenguin.com/blog/2013/07/august-party-announcement</ref>. On August 1, an ad on the homepage and [[Login Screen|login screen]] was revealed. It was written "SURF'S UP! STARTING AUG. 22", confirming the official date of the event.
