This is a proposed policy for bots at the global level (and also at the wiki level).
Global bot rules
We use the Wikimedia bot policy, except that ALL wikis are opt-in with no opt-out. Basically, the bot must only maintain interlanguage links or fix double-redirects. Other uses are to be passed by the staff.
ALL bots, in general...
- Should have tasks approved by the community of the wiki(s)
- Should (but not required) to have source code available (especially in the case of global bots, where the potential for damage can be high)
