The Cave Expedition is an activity that began on January 22 and will end (possibly) on January 28. It was confirmed on the What's New Blog and the Club Penguin Times Issue #223. The point of the activity is to explore the caves and the underwater. The free items were a Miner's Helmet at the Mine and a hidden pin (The Amethyst Pin) that could be found in the Treasure Hunt. The expedition consists of 4 rooms, The Mine, The Mine Cave, the Hidden Lake and the Underwater (which is for members only).

Trivia
- There is a member item (a diver suit) for sale at the Hidden Lake. It costs 50 coins only.
- It all started from a simple rockslide to a hole in the wall.
- Some penguins think it will be a new room for the future.
- Some penguins think it will be a new Aqua Grabber level.
- It is identified as an underground cavern because of the rocky spikes and a waterfall hidden at the back of the preview provided on the What's New Blog.
- Some penguins think that the waterfalls might be where Card-Jitsu Water will take place.
- It might be related to Mission 11.
