Club Penguin Wiki:IRC
Steps
- In the embedded IRC chat box above, type in your username, in the nickname space.
- Hit connect.
- Chat and follow Wiki rules.
Sysops will be given system operator powers. (See "What Are System Operators?" below)
Please register your IRC nickname if you want it permanent so people cannot impersonate you. There will be a link when using IRC to do this.
This is the wiki's official chat. All other chats are user-operated and are not affiliated with this wiki.
Who are the channel operators? (Users with the @ symbol)
Operators is a power in IRC that will be given to the wiki's Administrators. Ops can kick users from the chat, ban users from the chat, and set the channel topic.
Users with "Super Op" next to their names in the list below are ops who also have the ability to promote/demote other ops and change channel settings. The "Channel Director" has full access to the channel and is set as the channel owner.
Moderators
Moderators are users who are not administrators, but have access to basically the same tools that regular channel operators do. These are trusted users who are the ones who will do something in case no regular Ops/Administrators are around. The following users listed are moderators.
- Nifky (hurr)
Bots
"Bots" are non-human processes that will automatically do things, such as auto kick someone. They sometimes may be OPped to use restricted commands, and sometimes may not be. Please note that they are not actual people and are automated processes/programs. If you have a bot, you need approval before you can use it in the channel. For most approvals, you should try to contact Seahorseruler. Approved bots are listed below.
- SeahorseBot - Operated by User:Seahorseruler. Includes basic functions, and some games such as trivia.
- ChanServ - Bot which is coded to be in the channel automatically by freenode, and is not ours. It simply keeps the channel from disappearing.
- CPWNBot - Operated jointly by User:Seahorseruler and User:Andrew. Used for staff control over channels across the network.
Alternative way to get to chat
Due to COPPA Laws, and IRC's Terms and Conditions, users must be above the age of 13 to register, but you may join legally under that age and just chat.
