Welcome to the Admin Lounge! We created this page, aiming to bring fresh new ideas to the wiki - without the fuss of making a forum. For those with administrator rights - it is a lot easier to discuss new ways to bring this wiki to life. If you are an admin we advise you to use this page to make the wiki a better place.

Add the name of the idea as a Level 3 Section underneath the New ideas section. Thank you.

For those who do not have administrator rights, they can discuss and express their opinion on the talk page.

Trivia cleanup

I've seen many users misuse the Trivia section. There is stuff there that isn't trivia, that could contribute to the length of the article, but instead leaves an empty-looking stub that has a section that is longer than the article itself. I ask users to move information from the Trivia section that is not trivia, to the main article. Stuff like its features is not trivia, stuff like it was featured in an official video is trivia. Thanks,

SiteNotice changes

I can't express how much I dislike the current SiteNotice. We don't need that little "header" up there. Why?

  1. It's wasting space.
  2. It's a reiteration of links in the sidebar.
  3. No one uses them as far as I know.

Okay, you might be against me on this, and I know why. But announcements should be on the SiteNotice not on the main page. Why?

  1. SiteNotice appears everywhere.
  2. More importantly, only registered users can see it, unlike non-registered users who can see annoucements on the main page, which are completely useless to the visitor. Even TurtleShroom agreed with this (the idea was included in Metalmanager's Project Visitor, in which TS thought it was genius).
  3. The header we have is taking space up for the "2 lines limit".
  4. Check this out. The official Sitenotice help page from Wikia states that: the SiteNotice should only be for important and temporary messages; it should be empty most of the time; keep 'em short and sweet. I once saw TS do an essay about him not being to able to edit the wiki for a small amount of time... on the darn SiteNotice! That was amazing.

My second idea was that we should have announcements on the SiteNotice, telling people to vote for someone who was nominated for RfUR or something.

And anyway, I would rather we go through with this idea after Spotlight, because then we don't have a 2 lines limit.
