Ok. The first things you need to know about to make a good article are templates. There are many templates that point out many different things. However, the only need about 2 templates to start any good article. If you don't have a lot of information about the item you're making an article for, always put the {{Stub}} template. It basically says that the article is lacking info, so more experienced users might come and expand the article.

The most important template that an article has is the Infobox. There is a different infobox for every different type of page. If you want to know more about the {{CharacterInfobox}}, and what info to put in the infobox, go here. The actual infobox isn't on this page because it would add this page to the category "Items", which you'll learn about later. Infobox goes here

After you finish your infobox, you can write a small paragraph about the item. Below is a good example from the page Party Hat. However, if there is a similar item elsewhere on the wiki, put ''Not to be confused with [[Article Name]].'' directly under the template before you start you paragraph.

The Party Hat (also known as the Beta Hat) is a collectible free item first available during Beta Testing. It was the first party hat and the first free item in Club Penguin, aswell as the first clothing item that wouldn't be taken away after beta testing. It was also the item that was available for the shortest period of time; for only a couple hours. Similar items are 1st Year Party Hat, 2nd Year Party Hat, 3rd Year Party Hat, 4th Year Party Hat, 5th Year Party Hat and 6th Anniversary Hat.

After you finish your paragraph, it's time to start your history section. To title the section, put == History ==. The same goes for all sections, except if they are subheadings, add an extra equal sign = to each side of the word(s). Right under "History" is where you put if and when it was ever a popular item.

History

The Item was very popular during the Blankity Blank Party. It was mostly worn by Such and Such penguins.

Ok. After you complete that you add your Release History Sub-Section. As I said before, a normal sub-section gets 1 extra equal sign on each side of the word, which in this case is "Release History". Under the sub-heading, you have to create an info chart. There is no template for it, so you have to Ctrl+C it off of somewhere. Here is the chart. {|border="1" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" style="margin: 1em 1em 1em 0; background: #f9f9f9; border: 1px #aaa solid; border-collapse: collapse; font-size: 95%;" !'''Catalog'''!!'''Available from'''!!'''Available until''' |- ||||| |} Ok. Now that you have the chart ctrl+c'd from somewhere, all you have to do is "Ctrl+V" it onto the desired page where you want it. Please note that if you don't know all of it's release dates that it's a good idea to add the {{Expansion}} template above the chart.

Release History

Catalog Available from Available until
Catalog that item was available from. Date item was available from Date item was made unavailable. Note: If an item is still available, put ''Available'' in this slot.

You're doing a great job! Next you have to make your "Appearances" section. It should list avery place where the item has appeared other than on penguins who are waddling around. Examples would be PSA Secret Missions, in the Newspaper, Catalog covers, or in rooms, such as the wigs on the shelf in the Gift Shop.

Appearances

  • Item appeared at blakity blank.

Now, your next section is the trivia section. Only facts that don't seem right ANYWHERE else in the article should go here. We don't want things in Trivia that could go in somewhere like History or the opening statement.

Trivia

  • List trivia here.

Gallery! The gallery is one of the most important parts of an article. This section can include any images of the item. To place an article, put <gallery> at the beginning. Then place your pictures there as '''File:Filename.filetype(png, jpg, etc.)'''. Finally, place </gallery> at the end of your article.

Gallery

Your next section is "Names in Other Languages". To learn more, go here.

Names in Other Languages

Place chart here

We're almost done, I promise! Next you can place the "See Also" section. It is supposed to list at least every item that the article item has been paired with. There is an example below where A is another item. Your final section, which is below See Also, is the SWF section. It list the SWFs for the item. If you don't have any, just don't create the section. However, you can always check our archive wiki for the swfs.

  • A(Paired with this item in the 2008 Such and Such catalog, aswell as the Jan. 2009 Blankity Blank.

After you've done all of that, you have the option to put categories. Some categories come with templates, such as the Infobox and Stub templates. However, there are many more categories you could put. All categories must be placed like this - [[Category:Category Name]] All item articles need a seperate template aswell. For example, if the item is a head item, put "Category:Head Item". If it's wall furniture, put "Category:Wall Furniture". The final step for you, is to click submit, and there's your article!
