Welcome to the Club Penguin Wiki, Weegeescarves!

Hi there! Welcome to the Club Penguin Wiki, the free online encyclopedia all about Club Penguin! We hope you enjoy your stay here.

If you want to discuss improvements to a page, use its talk page. A talk page is the discussion section for the page it is about. User's have their own talk pages so that different people can message them. The page you are on now is your talk page, which will be used to receive messages. Whenever you make a comment on a talk page, be sure to sign your post with your signature. You can do this by typing 4 tildes (~~~~). You can also click the button on the edit bar to do the same thing. There is also IRC, where you can also talk about the wiki (for help, or for general discussion about it) or socializing, like a talk page, but in real time.

All users have their very own user page. User pages are pages in which the user, who owns the page, can describe themselves. Feel free to fill out your user page with information about yourself, and anything else you would like to say.

A few users called Administrators have extra tools to maintain the wiki. They have special abilities such as blocking users, deleting pages, reverting edits, and a few others. Administrators' names will normally show in green. A list of Administrators can be found here. If an admin asks you to stop doing something, it is best to respect their request and do as you are told. Sometimes not listening to them in cases where you are breaking our policy may result in a block.

Before you begin editing, we also kindly ask you to read our policy first, to avoid any blocks and to be aware of our rules.

Editing is the act of changing a page, adding information onto it. Your knowledge of the game is the prime reason why we are a large website. Pages are divided into many namespaces, ranging from our article mainspace (about Club Penguin) to userspace (about you and the users) to projectspace (about the wiki itself). Articles are our most important pages that are informative and have information on different things on Club Penguin. An example of an article would be the Coffee Shop page. To edit a page, click the "Edit this page" button on the top of the page.

Please note that this wiki is not a forum, but we do have a forum that can be used to simply chat, talk about wiki issues or project new ideas!

If you make a mistake while editing, do not stress! Just go to the bottom of the article and click "Report a problem on this page". Just explain what happened. If you intentionally mess up a page, you will be blocked from editing, per our policy.

There are many more advanced things that you will learn as you go on. However, it is imperative that you check out our Manual of Style. If you are not aware of the rules in the Manual of Style and Policy, you may be blocked, and it will not be our fault that you were not informed. Therefore, it is very important you go through the manual of style.

When you are going to import a file, Special:Upload needs to be used instead. With the import tool, it allows you to copy the source file and then pasting the direct link to it and then uploading it. For example, the source file of this file would be this. The source page can be found by clicking the image on the file page. I actually don't know specifically how to get the Item IDs, but the item ID is the same number found in the SWF links. They can range from 1 to a number larger than 15000, but most don't exist. There is a CP item list, but it is outdated: http://items.cpcheats.info/name.php (furniture: http://items.cpcheats.info/furniture/name.php). If you do want to search through all those SWF files, their SWF number ranges from:

• Head items: 400-499, 650-678, 1004+ (currently up to 1196).
• Face items: 101-139, 2001+ (currently up to 2023)
• Neck items: 162-199, 214, 216, 301-317, 793, 3000+ (currently up to 3058)
• Body items: 201-299, 720-799, 830-854, 4000+ (currently up to 4277)
• Hand items: 220, 233, 234, 321-350, 701-758, 1034, 5000+ (currently up to 5084)
• Feet items: 351-388, 6000+ (currently up to 6054)
• Flags/pins: 500-649, 7000+ (currently up to 7039)
• Backgrounds: 901-999, 9000+ (currently up to 9080)
• Others (awards): 800-823, 8000+ (currently up to 8009)
• Colors: 1-15

As to conclude, current day items are sorted in thousands, with the 1000s being head items, 2000s being face, 3000s being body, 4000s being body, 5000s being hand, 6000s being feet, 7000s being flags/pins, 8000s being awards and 9000s being other items. As for the Treasure Book items, they are the same as the item ID of the clothing item, but if it is an exclusive item, it can range anywhere in the 10000s. If you choose to use this method to search, you can click here to start. Furniture items range from 1-600s, and 1000-1030s or 40s for the custom furniture.

Also, about the error, it's something we know about already. It is probably caused by a server problem, as we are currently importing and uploading, etc. We hope that this will die down when we're finished. You can ask Andrew (he'll reply on his talk page) or Seahorseruler for more info about this.

Rollback tool reminder

Remember that rollback is for a quick undo for vandalism. Something like this could've been undone instead of a revert, as the user was trying to help. When you are going to use rollback, be sure that the edit you're undoing is a vandal, like swearing, spam, or unrelated content. RE: On LM's Talk Page

To use the SoThink SWF decompiler:

1. Save the SWF link that you wish to decompile (example: this)
2. On the decompiler, search for the file under the folder you saved it on at the left side of the decompiler. It should open and on the right side, there should be sprites, icons, etc... If what I said does not show up on the right side of the decompiler, drag the file to the right hand side.
3. Find the correct picture which is usually under the icons area and take a picture of it using the Snipping Tool or Print Screen.

• • If you use the Snipping Tool, use GIMP to make the background transparent. In order to make the background transparent, click the Fuzzy Select button on your toolbox in GIMP. Then, click on the background of the picture and click delete. Save the photo and upload it onto Club Penguin Wiki.
  • If you use Print Screen, paste it (ctrl+v) into Paint (or some other photo editor). Save it and open GIMP. Right click the picture, scroll over Layer, scroll over Transparency, and click Add Alpha Channel. Last, repeat the same step for the Snipping Tool where as to use Fuzzy Select to make the background transparent. Save the photo and upload it onto Club Penguin Wiki.

Unused files buildup

Oh one thing about uploading files that I forgot to tell you (I did tell CPMaster this): when replacing poor quality images, just write over the old file. This is because there is a section called Special:UnusedFiles, and some admins are going to delete most or all of it. The purpose of telling you this is because replacing it under a new file name will mean that the old file will become an unused file, and will clog up the special page one by one. Although it only shows 1,000 max on that page, there are over 5,000 unused files on the wiki currently. --LordMaster96<staff /> 04:24, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Hmm... this will take a while to make a decision, and I think it's not a good idea to make a decision myself. I'll talk with other admins tomorrow, as no other admins are on at the moment (it's near midnight for them - I'm the only admin using Pacific time). To give you my say, I'd say that we change it to "pin", as the local_crumbs.swf file (the .swf file used by Club Penguin to give every item a name) does not include the word "Pin" in its name. Ah. Well, I'm still glad you came back to visit us. I'm 16 now, so my username is kinda odd now, which is why I use CK for my sig. Even if you're never coming back here, you could always stop by our IRC channel anytime you're bored. We could always use more people to talk to. Great to hear! Well, you haven't missed much in terms of CP. In my opinion, they've been going downhill since 2012. I haven't regularly played CP since... 2012, but I just recently realized that even though I have constant access to CP now (before I didn't due to Computer troubles), I really don't want to go on it anymore. As I said before, I mainly stay on for the great community. In the 4+ years here I've made friends with quite a few people, and I feel like it'd be really hard to just quit the Network and never talk to them again. Nowadays, most of the "older" users here are just as old irl, including myself. Being 16, I know that I'll have to get into that phase of life soon enough- and I both dread and envy the day it comes. Anyways, glad to hear that you're doing well.
