Awards meeting

Always on my Saturday visit days, eh? :P As usual, I won't be able to attend :/ However I figured I should voice the fact that I don't think there are enough "old users" that should be remembered with awards. Buuuuut, I don't know old wiki users like you 2009-ers do :P (But here are a few I was just guessing on for ideas)

• TS or Tigernose for the leadership award.
• HP for the nicest user obviously.
• That's all I can think of :P

• But, another question/idea. Imo we should have another one of those user-submitted awards thing unless the administration is making one set of permanent award designs, because I don't think last year's submitted awards should be used permanently.

Need your opinion

Hi LM. Since archives doesn't have a very large community to help me with decisions, I figured i'd ask you and a few other people your opinions on an issue i'm having. Since May, Mario has used the licensing thing as a categorization system rather than for licensing, and it kinda aggravates me. I let him continue doing it because I figured I could deal with it later (since now i'm working on other things), but I just realized that we do have HotCat on archives, so why not use that instead? CPWN Awards

• Bro is going to represent the fanon awards. Apparently the awards have already been chosen, now only designs must be chosen.
• I suppose i'll represent shops. We haven't officialized awards yet but i'll set up a vote for that soon.

Halloween CSS

Personally, I think it'd look great and give the wiki a bit more liveliness, not only for halloween but also other main events like Christmas and such; I wouldn't go as far as wikia, doing it for every CP party, but I think main or world events could be nice with a little bit of change. Also, I was just about to ask if you needed anything because I saw that you pinged me on IRC, but when I got to the wiki you already asked me KD

Hmm, I'm not quite sure, because it seems like shops and fanon are both still in prep-phase so moving the awards up a week might not be a good idea. Shops award design submission and nominations are currently open, but as I expected users aren't really participating as much as I'd like them to be :/ As for fanon, their award design submission is open, but only like 3 images have been submitted; and they haven't even opened nominations yet. Maybe you should talk to bro and ask him when he's going to do so?

"Puffles Place"

Hello LM! I'm Eduardo 008, I usually edit the Portuguese Wiki. Recently, I saw some interactive images and had the idea to do the same with puffles. That is, I mapped an image with puffles so when clicked, each puffle links to the article of its respective color, and when the mouse cursor is placed over the puffle, it show the name of that user's puffle. This can be useful so users who have 1 puffle of each color don't need to put lots of userboxes in their userpage. Also image maps are cool. You can see how it works in the bottom of my userpage on the Portuguese Wiki. So, I was trying to transform it into a template, as it can be easier for anyone to put it in their userpage. Instead of copying the whole code (which is really complicated), users could simply edit it like this, like an infobox:

blue=Lord
red=Berry
}}

When changing "blue" value would change the name that appears when the cursor is placed over the blue puffle, changing "red" would change it on red puffle, and so on. As you may understand more of Wiki language than I, I came ask for your help. Can you make a userbox like I shown, easily editable?

At first I thought they were listed alphabetically, but then I saw others who weren't so I figured it might've been by the amount of people that nominated them, but then I noticed that that was also incorrect. Math

Hi LM. I like figuring out historical surpassings with our Admins and B-crats (such as HP becoming the longest-serving admin earlier this year), but I'm pretty bad with calculating the days so I was just curios to see if there was an easier way to do it? For example, I wanted to see exactly when Hat Pop surpassed V-Rex as the longest serving B-Crat- I know it was sometime in 2011 or 2012, but I don't feel like counting the days backwards on a calender to find the right day :P I might just be kinda stupid, with an obvious answer in front of me, or there may be no easier way at all. Archive table opinion?

Hi LM. Could you give me your opinion on which table would be better for catalog SWFs (such as the penguin style)? The main difference between the two is that one has months at the top while the other has years at the top (For B it only has 2011-2014 because I made it a model of the german catalog). Blog pages

Sorry to bother you, but I figured i'd get one last clarification for the whole blog project so that maybe I could work on it soon. You said something about the Blog: namespace I believe, however I think that namespace is actually supposed to be used for user-related blogs (Blog:Cp kid as an example). So, where exactly should these pages be placed? Also, should we make a single page for each month's worth of blog posts as suggested before, or should we have a page for each post (I noticed PT is doing the latter, so I figured i'd ask). I personally think that monthly pages would be better, but I figured i'd ask for clarification. Now, speaking of which blogs to have... a. Should we include blog posts from Rocketsnail games pertaining to Club Penguin, Penguin Chat 3, etc.? b. Should we include blog posts only available in other languages (for example, I believe there were exclusive posts in Spanish/Portuguese to introduce some of the new bloggers).

Thanks for helping me clarify those things. As for starting to work on it, I probably won't until I toy around with a standard page layout in one of my sandboxes and get it approved. Actually, what reminded me of this project was Screenhog's old history edit to the Blue Cape page. It said miniclip forums were used to persuade CP into making it, so I decided to check the Wayback archives to see if I could find the original thread. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it, but somehow I got myself back to CP blog archives and as usual I was quite thrilled to read a few pages of history (for example, apparently the Pizza emote was released along with the pizza parlor, and penguins couldn't "layer" their items until early 2006; I never would have known that if not for the blogs) before I bookmarked it and peeled myself off of the site (for now) to ask you these questions. No point in reading all of the posts now and then having to read them all again later. (I don't know how this got into such a rant lol).

Licenses

Hello LordMaster96,

I have been wondering, don't you think we need an image license regarding those custom penguins? As users really get confused about what license to exactly use. We had that problem in Club Penguin Wikia, but we were able to avoid using that license. Just suggesting, though I know that the Self license is the one to be used XP.

SWF Section and New Guide

Hello,

I know it is not an important topic, but about the signature, "Neither image can be over 20px". Regarding that point Quackerpingu and Chill (and me too) are actually breaking that point, since one have the image of a size 40px and the other 30px.

I was just wondering, was that point cancelled out or something?

Remember me? Anyway - I'm currently creating a wiki for a virtual game which I also operate with four colleagues. One thing I've always loved about CPWiki is the customizations it has; it's not just a dull recreation of Wikipedia with some Club Penguin images here and there. I am personally uncomfortable with MediaWiki classes and selectors, as is the entire development team - put simply, we aren't used to creating CSS on MW. I've studied how CPWiki does it by viewing the source, although it is still confusing. Now I don't like to copy things, especially for an official wiki for a virtual world, but I am wondering how you would feel if we went on and used generally similar CSS? So far I've made some progress by studying this wiki's sources, as well as using some previous knowledge in web design. However, it is not nearly done. Being an active web designer, I know how much it sucks to have stuff stolen, whether or not the code itself was copied or even modified. I appreciate everything, thanks!

Hello, As you know I am a new user on the CPWN. I would just like to introduce myself to you. I'm from the Club Penguin Wiki (Wikia), and have just starting staying here full time.
